If you're looking for an unforgettable hiking experience, look no further than Haleakala National Park on Maui. This stunning park is home to a variety of trails that will take you through lush forests and up rocky cliffs.
Established as a national park in 1976, Haeakala covers over 33,0000 acres of the island and includes Haleakala Volcano, the most popular tourist destination in the park. With a summit of 10,023 feet, you get a gorgeous view of the entire park from above the clouds. Just don't expect to hike all the way up to the summit as it takes around 3 hours by car just to get there.

After driving up to the volcano summit, you’ll begin this trail at the highest point. The trail gradually switches back into the crater along a steep ridge.
With gorgeous views the entire way and the feeling of being in a different world, this trail is a must when visiting the park.

A very unique trail that takes you through different landscapes, the Sliding Sands Trail is like no other. From the barren and rocky start to unique views of indigenous plant life, this trail is sure to please.
Be warned this hike is long with difficult rocky terrain.

Those waterfalls you see all over postcards? Get ready to experience one of them on this trail.
You’ll make your way through a lush bamboo forest and lots of smaller waterfalls on your way to the golden prize of this hike — The Waimoku Falls. This 400-foot-high waterfall is one of the tallest on Maui and is sure to take your breath away. But be prepared to be jumping over a few rocks and get a bit wet as you cross a few streams to get there.
