The best time to visit Joshua Tree National Park is in the spring (March-May) or fall (September-November), when temperatures are cooler and there's less chance of rain. The park is open year-round, but winter visits can be challenging because some roads and campgrounds may be closed due to snow.

Joshua Tree National Park is in southeastern California. It's adjacent to the community of Twentynine Palms, about 140 miles (225 kilometers) east of Los Angeles.The park spans two distinct desert ecosystems: the lower, cooler Colorado Desert and the higher, hotter Mojave Desert. The two deserts meet at Joshua Tree's namesake tree—the twisted, spiky-leaved Joshua tree (Yucca brevifolia). The park also includes part of the Little San Bernardino Mountains range.

There are plenty of things to do at Joshua Tree National Park! Hiking, rock climbing, stargazing, and wildlife watching are just a few of the popular activities. You can also take a scenic drive through the park, go for a swim in one of the desert oases, or explore some of the fascinating history behind this unique place.
