The best time of year to visit Yellowstone National Park depends on what you would like to see and do while you are there. For example, if you want to see the geothermal features, the summer months are generally the best time to visit as most of them are accessible during this time. However, if you want to see the wildlife, fall is typically the best time as this is when many animals congregate near the water sources before winter arrives.
